Your words can encourage, heal, inspire, and build—but they can also discourage, divide, and destroy.

In this episode of Gospel Unfiltered, host Cornell Bunting explores the biblical importance of the words we speak over ourselves, our children, our relationships, our health, our purpose, and our future.

This conversation examines what people really mean when they say, “Speak it into existence,” while making an important biblical distinction: believers are called to speak God’s truth, pray in faith, act in obedience, and trust God with the outcome.

Through Scripture and personal reflection, Cornell discusses the power of the tongue, the danger of gossip, the importance of speaking life over young people, and why faith-filled words must always be supported by wisdom, preparation, responsibility, and action.

This episode will challenge you to examine your daily language and ask:

Are my words producing life, fear, faith, healing, or destruction?

Yes, yes, yes. Welcome to another episode of Gospel Unfiltered. Yeah? Listen, guys, you guys are in for a treat today. Before we go into the show today, I want you guys to know, for a lot of you guys that don't know, today is B Day. Today is Cornell's B Day. 47 years. 47 years, people. I have been here. God has blessed me and have taken me through a lot of things. You know, I have so much experience and things that have happened, things that have unfold. Listen, I could talk to you guys for days for a lot of my journey, but listen, we don't even got to go into all that right now. So listen, sometimes when you can come outside, just feel the ear and just reflect, it's a beautiful thing. So, with that being said, I want to welcome you guys back to Gospel Unfiltered. I'm your host, Cornell Buntin. I am grateful that you have chosen to spend another Friday with me. It's a beautiful thing. As we go beyond the pulpit, yes, for honest conversations, real stories, kingdom, truth. It's a beautiful thing. So with that being said, today we are talking about something all of us use every day, but many of us do not always recognize its power. I'm just saying powerful. The word. The word. Very powerful. If you guys ever understand the power of the tongue, yep. You guys can speak beautiful things over your life, and you can speak bad things over your life without even realizing it. You know, this is where we are today. And you know, a lot of stuff have unfolded where I know a lot of you guys haven't gotten the full breakdown or the full understanding of what that looked like. And I know you guys were looking like, okay, Cornell, I don't see you with a Bible, all these things. Just so you guys know, I do have a bunch of Bibles. And I think in the next episode, you guys will be seeing Bibles on the desk. What I prepared today, topic, and of course, you know, work on my computer a lot because I'm riding right now. I'm writing some books right now. Not one or two books. I'm writing. Well, one I'm finishing up, then the next one I'm I'm kind of cleaning up as well. And then there's one that I'm riding about me. Well, it's more like a testimony, you know, things that have recently happened, and you know, a lot of people were nervous because they're like, well, Cornell might not make it because, you know, of course, I was down bad. If you guys had seen me a month ago, you'd be like, oh yeah, he's gone. He's gone. But nope, God say otherwise, you know, you got a whole lot for me to still do. So listen, I'm here. I'm grateful. I give God all the glory, guys. I want you guys to understand that I am so grateful to him for everything that he has helped me through. You know, you get a text, and I know a lot of you guys see things that you don't necessarily understand sometimes, and you're like, why did God make this happen? And I want you guys to understand, we live in a world that is actually controlled by the devil. And just so you guys know, God blesses us when you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, He blesses you with a spirit, and that spirit will lead you. Listen, that spirit will lead you to live a fruitful life, but there are gonna be challenges that's gonna come at you because of course you're not one of those individuals that the devil can have his way with and have you do things for him to help him get more souls and stuff like that. So he is anytime you put yourself in a situation where he could, you know, kind of just slide in there and trying to disrupt a few things, he's gonna do that. So I want you guys to understand two things going on. Listen, and you know, the beautiful thing about us, we have protectors, we have guardian angels that fight our battles every single day. And you know, that's one of the things that you know I wanna touch on today a little bit, where I just kind of help you guys understand, you know, what that looks like. You know, if you guys dive in, like let's say you guys dive into the book of John, you know, John is like the fourth gospel book, you know, you got Matthew, Mark, Luke, John. So you go to John, and the first, the very first verse in John 1, you know what he said? Said, in the beginning was the word, and the word was God, the word was with God. Nothing came into existence without the word. I don't even have the book in front of me right now, but listen, I have over the years I've memorized so many verses in different parts of the Bible. I know where pretty much all the stories are in the Bible, and I've read Bible that the mass have not read because you know the mass Bible that everyone has has 66 books. But there's another book, there's another Bible that has 88 books, stories that, you know, wasn't put into this book. And so, you know, that's for we're gonna leave that conversation for when we have an individual sitting with me that, you know, speak to the mass of people in a congregation, and you guys will get a better understanding of what that looks like, you know, and uh you you'll get answers like, you know, because I'm not an ordained minister yet. So, with that being said, right now you guys get a little bit of the juice that I know in my own words, you know, and so just want you guys to understand. I'm never forcing anything on anyone. I'm not, you know, what I say, you guys don't have to take it. And, you know, I mean, I would love for you guys to take it and run with it, but hey, if you don't want to, you don't have to. I'm just saying. I want to plant a seed, and hopefully that seed will grow into something beautiful. I'm just saying. It's a beautiful thing. And so what I want to do, like, you know, I wanna I wanna touch on I want to touch on some areas that you guys, you know, might have not, you know, heard some of these places. But in Proverbs 1821, it says, Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits. Can we unfold that? Can we unfold you want me to unfold that a little bit? Listen, I'm glad you guys said yes. I'm gonna unfold that for you guys a little bit. Understand you can speak blessings over yourself, but when you do that, you gotta be fully committed to believing it's gonna happen. Because faith, listen, it takes a whole lot to have faith in certain things. You can't doubt for not nothing. The minute you doubt, it and whatever that was, that was gonna happen for you. Because you have to be fully committed. You can't be one foot in and one foot out, it don't work like that. So, what I'm telling you guys, you can speak something beautiful over your life. If you get up every day and, you know, because of your situation, you're upset, you're speaking negative on certain things. That's kind of how your life is gonna be, you know, moving. You gotta speak positive things, beautiful things over your life. Listen. And you'd be alright. You'd be surprised where you end up, you know. Um, for me, the longest time, longest time from I was in school, I've always wanted to write, but I didn't think, you know, when I was in school, I didn't think writing was gonna be like something for me that was that was gonna help me make it in the world, like, you know, where I could provide for my family. And so, you know, because I've, you know, I'd got into English literature, you know, from from my school, and I and I was loving it. You know, I got into acting, I was writing, you know, I was writing plays for my school, and I I in that time I said to myself, at some point in my life, I want to become an author. I mean, I was probably 13, 14 at the time when I said that. Not necessarily putting a specific date on it because at the time I didn't feel like authors were doing as good. Like, you know, there's a lot of struggles. And you know, when you're young, you don't necessarily want to struggle. You know, you want to get into something that's gonna just allow you to just be just flourish and you know, things is happening. Well, it it turned out that it can be beautiful, you know, depending on the support you get, depends on the team you have around you, and depends on what favor uh is shown to you on and what that looked like. And so with that, you know, I I actually had a lot of fun riding in school. And, you know, as I got older, you know, graduated from school, I became a teacher, and then I'm like, yo, I'm so young. Why am I even, you know, why am I doing this at this young age? I want to do something that's fun. I want to do something where I'm meeting people every day, where I'm making crazy money. Listen, this is me speaking all this stuff. This is the power of the word. And literally, the next week, my friend that was a security guard at the hotel, he literally said to me, bruv, where I work, they're looking for Bellman. And, you know, that job requires you to have an approachable presence, you know, where you smile, people just want to, you know, embrace what that looks like. And so he knew how I was, and he was like, Man, I know with your smile and how you are with people, you would get the job immediately. This is what my friend said to me, bruv. And you know, rest in peace, my brother, because he passed away way back, way back then, you know, he was very young. He had a you know situation where he had to transfer blood every so often, and there was one time he forgot to go, and then it didn't happen. And so he, I don't know, he went a couple of weeks, and then before you know, he didn't wake up. So, anyways, that's that. But, you know, what I want to tell you guys, you know, I went to the place and I and I said to myself before I even get there, I said, I want to get this job today and I want to start. But then, like this thing in my head was saying, Yeah, no, no one gets an opportunity like that. It don't work like that. You gotta go, they gotta see if you're gonna be a fit, then they got you gotta go wait, then they're gonna call you back. Listen to me, guys. This is how powerful the word is. I went to that interview and I was looking at the place. You know, when you go somewhere and it's so new, it looks so beautiful. I was just excited. I was just excited that I was gonna have an opportunity to work in the space. So when I tell you guys, I was just smiling. I was smiling when I when the when the HR director called me in. Because normally, she because she told me she said, normally we have someone that would interview you, and then I would interview you after, but we don't have that person here today, so I'm gonna do that interview myself. And then I will make a decision on whether we want you or not. And when I tell you guys, I was so present with her, I was so excited, you know, and she was like, You, you, you always this happy? And I'm like, Yeah, you know, I've I'm I live in a happy bubble. I try not to get that bubble pop by anyone. And this has been a long time, long time, guys. I've been doing this. And so she was like, I like your spirit, you know, like she was like, I like your spirit, I like how you are. And she's like, What size are you? And I told her my size, my pants size. She got on the phone, she called her people. Listen to me. They came in with my uniform, she said, if you want to start today, you can start today. Come on, come, listen, I was like this. Oh, yeah, definitely. I'll start today. Listen, people. I started that same day. And when I tell you, because you know, I didn't know Bellman made money like this. It was crazy. And that first day, like, just mind you guys, I'm in Jamaica, you know, we, you know, you get pay, and I think, I don't know, I don't even know what my pay was at the time, like, but it wasn't nothing crazy. Listen, what I made that first day was it when because it's all US, you know, you're getting US money because it's a lot of Americans coming and staying at the resort. So it's beautiful. But when I tell you guys, what I made that day in US money was more than what my paycheck was for the week. Yo, and I think that's probably one of the reasons I didn't even necessarily know what my pay was, because they just went straight to my bank and they just go there. I just I didn't have to look at them because, you know, my tip was so beautiful. And so when I tell you guys, I have done so much with what I've made, you know, from you know, tip money and stuff, you know, everything from building uh houses and you know, taking care of my family, and it's just been wonderful, you know. And so I tell you, I carried that here to America because, you know, they had sold the resort, and of course, they got me a job in Captiva Island. And that's how I that's how I made it into America, you know. But the journey, the journey has been amazing. And when I tell you guys, uh, you know, I love every minute of just a lot of what that was, you know, and so when I tell you guys the word is very powerful. It is very powerful because a lot of my world, I spoke it into existence. I'm like I remember back, and I I think this was maybe 2003, we had a bunch of guys just, you know, hanging out. And I'm telling you guys my real life story, so you guys understand. I'm and I'm and I'll dive into some of the scripture a little bit to just back up more for you guys. But, you know, I want to tell you guys my truth, you know, like what have on foul for me to say, yo, the word is really powerful. And, you know, it was a bunch of guys, you know, just kind of hanging out on the corner. And and, you know, I you know, I wanted to just stop because I was working along shift and I and I just wanted to stop and vibe with them for a little bit. And, you know, we we vibing, and you know, I just said to the guys, I said, you know, man, one day I'm gonna become a citizen of this country. You know, I'm gonna open my own business, I'm gonna go back to college, get my master, not my master, but my bachelor degree, because I didn't want to do school for so long. I just want to get to bachelor and I'm good. And one of the guys, he was like, bruh, that's never gonna happen. I've been here 16 years. All you do is pay bills. You don't never get to save no money. And, you know, while he said that and it was discouraging to hear that from, you know, a fellow Jamaican, it was almost like it was a fuel for me for it to happen. And I believed it was gonna happen. When I tell you guys, I believed it, and I was like, it's gonna happen, even though there was nothing showing me that it was gonna happen, but I was here. So the the possibilities are okay, what does that look like? What do those possibilities look like? How do I knock on the door? How do I knock on opportunities? You know, what does that look like? And so for me, it was, you know, one thing led to another, you know, where I was never been, I've never been pursued by a girl. I've always gone after girls. That's that was how I was on the island. And it, you know, it was like a family, but it was like a family that loved and and then I think it was over 700 of us over there. Housing was over there, you know. We we were mostly over there. You know, we never got to come out to like Fort Myers, Cape Coral, because mostly we had pretty much all we we wanted out there. We had the grocery store out there, the bank was out there, and we had like a little outlet, not necessarily out there, but it was right off at the island. It was literally right off the island. So we, you know, but we did, you know, when we did go clubbing, we had to go downtown, but we didn't necessarily drive in and about Fort Myers to go to the club. We had a one road that was McGregor, and we take that road straight to the downtown area, and that's all we knew. We we knew the downtown era because one of the Jamaican guys, he was a DJ, and so he was like, yo, you guys gotta come check me out of this club. And we went. And it was a lot of fun. It's a lot of fun. And I, you know, mind you guys, we're we're in our early 20s, 21, 22. You know, we're young, having fun, we you know, we don't a lot of this stuff, but to fast forward later to help you guys understand the power of the word. Not only so I got married, you know, by the girl that had pursued me. We ended up having two boys. If you guys look at a lot of my photos, those two boys that are light-skinned, I know I wanted to say that just from that word movie where she was like, he's light-skinned. But I have two boys that's uh they're like Malado. So there I got I married their mom. And you know, uh few years later I became citizen. I think from we got married to me becoming a citizen was maybe like, let's see, we got married in, I want to say 2004. Yes, got married in 04, and I got my citizenship in 2011. 2011. And literally, as soon as I got that, I enrolled in college. I so I had to get my AA, but I it was like I was so advanced, like it just it happened, then of course, boom, you know, go after my bachelor. But in the process of all that, you know, because you know, a lot of times when you're in school and you're doing like all these research papers and you're researching on certain things, something popped and you're like, yo, I need to go after that. And so because I was, you know, doing the IT, you know, cybersecurity, all these different things, it was like, I could possibly open my own company. And, you know, at the time I was making a lot of money from my Bellman job because I was still a Bellman, still a Bellman throughout a lot of the stuff that I was unfolding. So I was making, yeah, it was good. So I was fortunate to have saved enough to open my security company. And the following year I did. I opened uh the security company. And guess who came for a job? Yep, you guys guessed it. The very same guy that said, bruh, that's never gonna happen. The power of the word, the power of the word, and when you believe, when you believe, it's gonna happen. So now walk with me here for a little bit. So in in Psalms 33, 9, it says, For he spoke, and it came to be. He commanded and it stood firm. Understand, guys, God's words carry creative authority because God is sovereign. I want you guys to understand that. However, we definitely must understand something very clearly. God alone is the creator. He alone is. Don't want no one to get ahead of themselves now and say, oh, speak some things and it's gonna just happen. It don't work like that. To break that down to help you guys, when you see like a Fortune 500 company that's doing amazing, before that building was built, a conversation had to happen. Some agreement had to happen. And after those conversations were done, actually, let's back it up. Let's back it up before the conversation. An idea came to the mind of whoever that founder is, or you know, the person that is responsible for this coming to life. And so the idea comes, and it could be a dream, and we'll tap into that because listen, over the episodes that are to come, guys, you guys are gonna be in for a treat. Because we're gonna tap into like, you know, Joseph's story and his dream and you know what that led to. Oh, that's gonna be amazing. I can't wait to touch that. But to just to come back here, understand the idea. So we we get an idea, we say, okay, you know what, I won't I want to talk about it, but I want to talk about it with people that is in my corner. Because if you're talking to people that don't necessarily, they're not there, their perception is not where you're you're at. They're not gonna give you good feedback. If you get something for you, it's for you. You gotta pursue that. Don't let no one tell you otherwise because it was impossible for them. Don't mean it's gonna be impossible for you. So, you know, everyone is here for a reason and a specific reason. I want you guys to understand that. You guys are here to do something amazing, something major that no one else is gonna be able to do but you. And I want you guys to understand. This is how special life is and why we're here, you know, doing community and what that looked like. So, you know, just to go back to the layers of what this looked like. So there's the idea, conversation, agreements, now construction start, the building. Boom. Then we find people that can come in, see the vision, the mission, make it happen. And then next thing you know, you have a company that's striving. Not a lot of companies strive. Sometimes you hear companies open and they got to close because you know you don't get the right people, and then those people don't necessarily help you to get to where you need to get to. But what I'm saying is it's powerful what the word can do, and you understand the steps and how and how it's unfolding. Just to break for a little bit. I know you guys are looking at the attire and you like Cornell. I know you're not wearing like a black shoes with that interior shirt that you're rocking right now. I'm not. Just want you guys to know. Big yellow. Big yellow because it's B day. And well, I mean, if you guys have seen the flyer, you would see I'm possibly in an outfit that's close to this outfit. It wasn't actually exactly this outfit, but it was a black suit with the yellow shoes. I've had these shoes now for quite a minute, but I don't wear them a lot. You know, some would say, Cornell, why you got so many shoes? Sometimes, when you function on budgets, like, you know, you you put aside this that's gonna go towards what the shoe collection is. And I don't go crazy with what I spend on shoes, but when you have a few shoes, then you can you can hold those shoes for a very long time. Years, because you don't have to wear them so much and wear them out, you know. Even though I do have some, you know, some track shoes that I've worn out because I I wear them a lot, you know, go walking and all those different things. So, you know, I gotta tell you guys though, it's been it's been quite the journey. So, one of the things I'll say to you guys, you know, biblical faith is not about replacing God's will with our own wishes, right? Biblical faith means trusting God, declaring his truth, praying according to his will, and speaking in agreement with what he has revealed. So we're gonna go into 1 John 5, 14, and this is what it says this is the confidence we have in approaching God, and if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. If he hears us, you know what that means? If he hears us, that means according to his will, it's gonna grant it. He's gonna grant it. What you gotta do, you gotta tap in to that fate. There's a piece in the scripture that talks about if you have a if you have a fate as as small as a mustard seed, you can move mountains. And I know that's a parable that you like, yo, that's heavy, bruh. We we don't know how to break that down. Don't worry about how you break that down. What you need to do is have the fate, trust the process. Like, there's certain things in this life you you can't skip the steps to accomplish it. You can't go around, you know, like you can't, you can't you can't skip a step. You have to go the process. Just like maths. If if for any of you guys that, you know, is excited about maths and and do math or mathematics, my accent is never gonna give you that word clearly. It's just not gonna happen. Just letting you guys know. So you guys just gotta be excited about how you hear it. So, with that, in order to solve a mathematical problem, you need the formula. And if you try to go around that formula, you are gonna get that problem or whatever it is, you're gonna get it wrong. But you go the formula, you do all the steps the formula tell you to do, I promise you, you're gonna get it right. So, with that, understand in this life there's certain things you can go around. And once you understand that, things get just wonderful, it's beautiful. So, I want you guys to understand words can bring peace into a tense situation, or what happens? It turns tension into war, right? Yeah, so in Proverbs 18, verse 21, it says, Death and life are in the power of the yes, and they that love it shall eat its fruit thereof. You guys can go look for that. It's there, I promise you guys, it's there, and you know, different versions that you read is gonna, you know, give you, you know, different moving pieces or whatever it is. But it's it's really saying the same thing, you know. As I told you guys earlier, for me, for me anyways, this is how this is where I feel it started. In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God. That's John 1.1. We're gonna we're gonna skip to another one now. This is in Isaiah 55, 11, okay? So shall my word be that go it forth out of my mouth, it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please. Woohoo! Isn't that exciting to hear? That is exciting to hear. I'm just listening I want you guys to understand. The minute it comes out of your mouth, it's not gonna return void. Listen, listen, guys. This is how serious it is. So, and I'm telling you guys this, like, let's say you talk something bad over yourself, you can speak something to to try to you know get rid of that. And, you know, but the minute you put something out there, it's out there. I mean, you can put something else out there to kind of erase that that you've put out there, you know, because people speak bad things over people, and then you have those people that pray for you and speak those good things to try to erase those, you know, and break those chains or bondage, whatever that looks like. But I want you guys to understand the word is very powerful, and when you go into the book, it helps you to understand that God's words it accomplishes God's purpose. And I know a lot of us, you know, we see trend in certain things and we want to be a part of that trend. And instead of us walking in our purpose, we go after, you know, what that trend is saying. Yeah, this is what you need to do, because this is where the bread's at. And a lot of times people do that, you know. A lot of times people do that, and when they fumble and you know, things not go the way they're hoping later, because you know, they've had some fun, and then now it's you know, things are bad. They just listen, you you didn't decide to walk in your purpose, you decided you want to have some fun, you wanted to do all these different things, you wanted to do what other people was doing, and you know, the mess of people, that's how they function. But I want to tell you guys this it's very important that you understand how to find you, you know, and give yourself some time, you know, give yourself grace, understand the importance of who you are and and why you're here and what that looks like. Next verse, Psalms 42, verse 5. This is what it said Why art thou cast down, oh my soul, and why art thou disquainting me? Hope thou in God, and of course, you know, when you dive into Psalms, most of those was written by David, right? And so David, he did not deny that his soul was troubled, right? He spoke directly to his troubled soul, and directly towards the hope in God, in what that looked like. And you know, a lot of you guys that I'm sure you guys have heard David was the man after God's own heart. You know, that was, I don't even know who gave him that nickname. But, anyways, he had that nickname and just it was just what it is. And so, with that, and listen, don't worry, guys, we're gonna dive into the David story as well. So, you guys gonna be in for a treat for that. Because David was gangster. I'm just saying, he done some stuff that you like, yo, how did God grant him all this when he did all this? Listen, there I don't think there is anyone in the book that have done some wonderful things for God that was not, they didn't do some dirty stuff. Just saying. I mean, when Jesus came, he came for the people that was doing dirty stuff. He didn't come for the people that already knew him. I mean, the people that already knew him didn't even recognize him when he came. Those are the very people that killed him three years later. Because they were like, yo, this man is blaspheming. He's doing things that nobody should be doing because they didn't realize it was it was God. You know, God is a three, three in one, Father, Son, Holy Ghost. Three and one, Son, Jesus, and a lot of you guys, I know this this is where a lot of you guys get lost in the sauce. Why did Jesus get killed the way he got killed? Why he came here? I want you guys to understand something. God didn't create debt, we were supposed to be here and live a wonderful, fruitful life and live for us as long as whatever that looked like. But unfortunately, that first people that was created, they decided to give in to Satan's, you know, however you put that, you know, he he he dressed it up so wonderfully they gave in. And so when they gave in, they gave dominion of earth to the devil. And so, with that, once they bid into what that fruit, that on that forbidden fruit, that showed them good and evil, the evil side of it now have birthed debt. So this is something new, okay? So the son had to come to understand that and then defeat it. Devil didn't necessarily know that's what he was coming to do because he used all of what the devil was, you know, plotting to his advantage. And when you hear a lot of these stories that will unfold in chapters coming out, you'll understand that a lot of times the madness that looks crazy, God uses it for his good, for whatever that's gonna look like, that's gonna take him to the next level of what this looks like. And so the purpose of him coming, this is the good news. This is what I want you guys to understand. This is the good news, this is the gospel. Jesus came, his ministry was just for three years. You know he was here for 33 years, but that 30 was really just being among us, understanding the vessel he was in, the body that we function in every day. But he had to understand this body so he can take on the weight of the world. He could take on all the mistakes that we're making, we're going to make. I mean, he's taken on mistakes we haven't even made yet. Sins that have been committed that is not even committed yet. So I want you guys to understand, and it's the very people that was said, yo, we we the Christians, is the very people that was a part of getting him crucified. But he had to die, and he had to go under for three days to understand what that looked like to defeat it and come back, understanding, okay, I'm gonna leave you guys with a helper that's gonna help you guys walk the walk, walk the right path. And I know that's hard because you know we live in the flesh and the flesh craves the world, and you know, we've you know, we give into it sometime. And so, and we're gonna we're gonna unpack a lot of that as well. So, you guys listen. Gospel and filters was not created to not help you guys understand some stuff. You guys gonna understand some stuff. If you listen, listen, share the show, share the show with whoever wants to understand who God is and feel that they're lost in the sauce, they're not necessarily understanding when they read certain things, the breakdown is not as it's not as good as they're hoping. You know, as we're in the last moment of the show, I want to just throw a few chapters out there for you guys to kind of just tap into and see how it can help you fully understand the power of the word. So in 2 Timothy 1, verse 7, it says, For God had not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. Okay, you know what? I can say to you guys that have felt like you're abandoned, or you know, whatever this looks like, like no one loves you or whatever, tap into Hebrews. So Hebrews 13, 5, it says, I will never leave you nor forsake you. Remember that. It's a lot of confident stuff in there, you know, and so for you guys that you know you need wisdom, and you're like, you know, what does this look like? James, James 1, 5, it says, if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God. And maybe you want that to be unpacked a little bit. Most times when we're in situations that we don't necessarily know how we're gonna continue or handle that situation. We call our friend, you know, we call someone that we trust. Maybe we need to stop doing that. Call on God first. Talk to God about it first, and then let Him lead what that looks like. Because He's gonna use someone to make it happen, anyways. So, you know, I I get emotional when I watch a movie and it's a good movie because they're showing like the heart of the people. I just watch a movie and, you know, I need to reach out to those people to see if I could plug in the show because maybe they'll they'll send me some something. I don't know. But it was called what was it, Ordinary Angels? I think he was called Ordinary Angels. But it was based on a true story, and when I tell you guys, I got emotional because it was so beautiful to see all the people come together and help. And the one lady that helped that father to, you know, not only, you know, get his debts uh down, but get them erased. And then to get a helicopter to get his daughter so she could get a liver, a liver transplant, you know, like and that young lady is still alive, you know, and and doing amazing, you know. So it's a beautiful thing, you know, for you guys that a lot of times feel weary, I would advise you guys to jump into Isaiah. And so in Isaiah 40, 31, he said, but they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. It's a beautiful thing. I want you guys to understand that you're here for a reason and you gotta tap into that. You gotta stop running around doing all these different unnecessary things that you're doing and wondering why my life feels like it's worth it. Wasting away. Are you asking yourself that or are you asking someone else to give you the answer while you're doing that? Either way, you gotta re-evaluate yourself and say, okay, you know what? This makes sense. This is what I need to be doing. This is what I feel is gonna make me happy. You go after that. You know, we are here to share knowledge, to share and help individuals get to that next chapter of their life. But a lot of us sometimes are so focused on whatever it is we're worshiping, you know, whether it's money, technology, clothes, jewelry, whatever that looks like, we get so lost into that we don't never really think about the rest of what we're supposed to be doing. You know, one of the things that I do every week, I meet with a bunch of brothers, and as my my good friend Patrick Dearborn would say, a bunch of misfit brothers. And we do Bible study. We we go into the Word and we we break things down. We use books that help us to understand what I look like. We just almost complete a book that talk about seven lies, you know, and the shadows, how we fight the shadows, you know, the shadow of despair, you know, all these different areas that one would like, okay, what does that look like? You know, the shadow of loss, you know, just different things that you go through and you fight those because they're there. We're humans that live in a flesh that crave the things of the world. This there is nothing else that can fulfill the flesh. I just want you guys to understand that the flesh gets fulfilled by the things of this world. But the good thing is, again, I'm gonna tell you guys this when you acknowledge Jesus as your Lord and Savior, He's gonna give you a helper that's the spirit within you that helps you to fight what the flesh is craving. So let's say the flesh is telling you you need to eat this food that's gonna clog up your orderies. The spirit will be like, nope, it's gonna clog up your orderies, that's not gonna be good for you. Don't do it. You listen to the spirit, you're gonna be okay. You listen to the flesh, next thing you know, you're in a situation where you compromise and you're like, yo, what's what's happening? You didn't listen to the spirit, you listen to the flesh, and you went that direction, and now you just gotta deal with that. You know, they say when you make a certain type of bed, you gotta lay in that bed. Hey, I get it. I get it. And, you know, it was wonderful. It was wonderful to sit with you guys today and uh speak to you guys, hope you guys gain a few things from this uh show today. The conversation that I had with you guys, because really I was just conversating with you guys today. There was no guests, it was just me. Your boy, Cornel Buntin, of course, still a little discombobulated because you know I'm still recovering, but it's progressing, you know, and I'm grateful for everyone that have shown support and have help just in a lot of different ways. There's so many people that have helped in in a lot of different ways. And I'm I'm in a I'm in a space right now where I'm content. You know, God is doing what he's doing, and I'm just I'm just waiting for him to show me, okay, this is what this all looks like. And so in the meantime, I do what I feel is is good, and you know, I try to be as my best self, and we go from there. So, with that being said, you know, I am really happy that you guys showed up for me today. And with that, I want you guys to just close your guys, or you can leave your eyes open, but close your eyes as we close out in prayer. As I go, Father God, we thank you for the gift of communication. Forgive us for the times we have used our words to endure, injure, discourage, embarrass, deceive, gossip, manipulate or destroy. Forgive us for speaking hopelessness over ourselves and others. Help us become slow to speak, quick to listen, and willing to receive correction. Teach us to speak truth with grace. Teach us to encourage without flattering. Teach us to correct without humiliating. Teach us to declare your word without attempting to control your will. Renew our minds and cleanse our heart so that our speech reflects wisdom, love, humility, and faith. Heal those who are still carrying painful words spoken over them. Remind them that human opinions do not have greater authority than your truth. Give parents wisdom in speaking to their children, give leaders wisdom in speaking to those they serve.
